GW80 Frameless Window
GW80 Frameless Window
A glass-faced exterior. A frame that disappears into the architecture.
The GW80 Frameless combines outward-opening aluminium windows with glass-covered sashes and an outer frame that can be concealed within the surrounding finishes. Matching fixed panes, concealed hinges and a flush folding handle create a consistent appearance across your glazing.

Overview
Hidden Handle Design
The GW80 hidden handle sits flush within the sash, giving the window a cleaner architectural appearance with minimal projection. It is designed to blend into the frame rather than stand out, helping keep the overall finish slim, sharp and modern. The aluminium handle is finished to match the frame and gives a premium, tactile feel when opening and closing.
Glass Sash
The outer glass extends over the sash, creating a continuous reflective surface across the glass perimeter.
Concealable Outer Frame
Integrate the frame into the surrounding finishes for a frameless appearance, with a discreet sash return and glazing bead visible inside.
Superior Performance
A whole-window U-value of 1.1 W/m²K using double glazing with a center-pane U-value of 0.9 W/m²K. This is thanks to the glass sash which stops thermal transmission to the sash.
Glass Sash
The defining feature of the GW80 Frameless is its glass-covered opening sash.
The stepped outer pane extends over the aluminium sash, with a 45mm perimeter beneath the glass. This creates a continuous glass face, carrying reflections across the clear viewing area.
When the window opens, the depth of the aluminium sash becomes visible behind the glass. When closed, the opening pane aligns visually with matching fixed glazing.
Hidden Handle
The GW80 Hidden Handle is built into the sash so the hardware sits flush with the frame, rather than projecting out like a standard window handle. This gives the window a much cleaner, more architectural look, with less visual interruption across the frame line.
The handle is precision-engineered from aluminium and finished to match the frame colour, so it feels like part of the window rather than an added component. It keeps the overall appearance slim and minimal while still giving a comfortable grip for everyday opening and closing.
This is a key feature for high-end residential and architectural projects where the small details matter. The hidden handle helps the GW80 look sharper, more refined and more premium, while still delivering the strength, durability and smooth operation required from a modern aluminium casement window.
Large Sash Sizes
The GW80 Frameless is designed to achieve larger opening sash sizes while keeping a clean, slim aluminium appearance. This makes it suitable for modern projects where the aim is to maximise natural light, ventilation and glass area without using bulky window framing.
For side-hung openings, the GW80 can achieve sash sizes up to 1000mm wide x 1800mm high, giving a tall, slim opening window with a generous clear opening. For top-hung openings, the system can achieve up to 1600mm wide x 1800mm high, allowing wider landscape-style casement windows with strong ventilation and a modern architectural look.
The system is also designed to handle practical sash weights, with side-hung sashes up to 50kg and top-hung sashes up to 60kg. This helps support larger glass areas while maintaining smooth operation, security and long-term reliability.

FAQs
What makes the GW80 Frameless different from a standard casement window?
The GW80 Frameless uses stepped glazing that extends over the external face of the opening sash. This creates a continuous glass surface across the clear viewing area and coloured perimeter. The outer frame can also be concealed within the surrounding finishes, giving the window a minimal architectural appearance.
Is the GW80 Frameless completely frameless?
The system has an aluminium frame and sash. Its frameless appearance is achieved by concealing the outer frame and covering the external sash face with glass. Inside, a discreet sash return and glazing bead remain visible at the glass line. The amount of frame concealed depends on the installation detail.
Can frameless windows open?
Yes. The GW80 Frameless is available with outward-opening side-hung and top-hung sashes, allowing you to introduce ventilation while maintaining a consistent glass-faced exterior. Matching fixed panes are available where an opening is not required.
Do fixed panes look the same as opening windows?
Yes. Fixed panes match the external glass borders and appearance of the opening windows when closed. This allows you to combine fixed glazing and opening sashes across an elevation without introducing different window styles.
What is the coloured border around the glass?
The 45mm perimeter sits beneath the outer glass and conceals the sash behind it. Because the glass continues across this border, the perimeter has a reflective glass finish. Black is standard, with other RAL colours available to coordinate with the frame.
